I know there's 1 more regular season game and the bowl game left but I was looking over the team this morning and you have to be very optimistic about next year as well. Folks don’t want to hear it but next year’s Memphis football team should be another 10+ win season. And they will complain about that.
I’m looking over the team and you only lose 2 starters if Jacob Likes comes back for 5th yr senior or if he does leave you lose 3 starters. Losing Blake Watson and Jacob Likes would hurt but losing Joe Scates isn’t a major loss IMO. He a loss but not a major loss to me.
On defense, you lose 5. Arku and Ellison could come back for 5th ye senior status. Then you’d only lose 3. Losing Simeon Blair and Jaylon Allen hurts.
Sure there's some things to fix but a quick glance at next year...I like what I see. Memphis should go 3-1 in their OOC schedule with the only loss being to FSU.
