Best case scenario

The 2016 season is upon us and there's reason to be optimistic.
No Lynch, no problem. No Fuente, no problem.
Why the optimism? The new staff.
Just look at what Norvell and Co. have done on the recruiting trail. This is the Tigers best class in history.
The schedule.
The schedule sets up nicely for the Tigers. They don't have to board a plane to travel until mid-October.
The Defense.
The defense is more mature and have been laser focused during the spring and fall camps.
Is there any doubt the Tigers start 2-0? SE Missouri State and Kansas shouldn't be much of a problem and the Tigers should win big in both games.
Bowling Green is up next and while this should be a tough and entertaining game, it's a game Memphis should win.
3-0 headed into Ole Miss. The Rebels have Alabama and Georgia the 2 weeks prior to Memphis, there's a chance they'll be banged up. They have to travel to Arkansas the week after Memphis, there's a chance they'll overlook the Tigers.
We don't think that will be the case. Ole Miss will be out for revenge. Tigers lose a close one.
Now at 3-1, the Tigers host Temple and the Tigers will be looking for some revenge of their own. They lost last year 31-12. The game will be close but Memphis will win it on a late Field Goal by Jake Elliott.
The Tigers are now 4-1 and board a plane for the first time this year as they travel to N'awlins and face Tulane. Easy win here and the Tigers go to 5-1.
The Tigers face a tough test at Navy. Most have this game as a loss. We're optimistic that Memphis' defense is more improved and learned from last season and we see this as another close win.
The excitement is building as Memphis improves to 6-1 and host Tulsa on Homecoming. Tulsa is improving but they are not yet able to beat Memphis as the Tigers improve to 7-1.
By now the Tigers should be in the top 25 or at least receiving some votes and on the verge of a Top 25 standing.
Memphis travels to SMU and walks away with a win and a 8-1 record.
USF is next and the Bulls will be a tough outing. Since the game is at the Liberty Bowl we'll give the edge to Memphis, record is now 9-1.
The Tigers travel to Cincinnati and this will be yet another close game and a close win for Memphis.
The 10-1 Tigers host Houston with what will be the game that decides the Western Division.
The Tigers fight hard but fall short in the end. They'll finish 10-2.
**I can see them losing to Navy and beating Houston. The end result is the same, a 10-2 record**
10 wins is what we see as the best case scenario. Is that too far fetched?
