Nearly a week into practice and it's all good for the Tigers. Today was the first day with pads and Coach Norvell called it a "Good Day."
One of the areas of concern going into the fall camp was the secondary. If the first 6 practices is any indication, there's no need to worry. Tito Windham has been stellar and incoming freshman T.J. Carter is turning heads. We wouldn't be surprised if Windham and Carter are your starting corners for game 1.
The Offensive Line is light years ahead of where they were last year. As of now, it looks like the starting line will be LT- Harneet Gill, LG- Dustin Woodard, C- Drew Kyser, RG- Gabe Kuhn, RT- Trevon Tate.
Doroland Dorceus is showing why he's the starter. Early on, it looks like Patrick Taylor Jr. is the #2 back and Darrell Henderson is more of a 3rd down back. Henderson is a beast in the open field and is a dangerous threat on 3rd down.
Anthony Miller is looking better than ever. We feel that he will have a career year. Teams will try to shut him down but the Tigers are LOADED at receiver. Phil Mayhue looks sharp, DaMonte Coxie is impressing and Sam Craft is...well...Sam Craft. This receiving corps is quite possibly the best Memphis receiving corps in Memphis history.
The Defensive Line has been improving but we'll need to evaluate them more in the upcoming practices to really see where they are at.
There's good reason to be highly optimistic. The offense is better, the defense is better, and the Tigers are dialed in. Yes, we know it's early but these Tigers look really good.
