The 2017 National Signing Day is now less than a month away. What needs have been filled and what's left to be filled?

Biggest needs-

Defensive back (8 commits)

Why is Defensive backs a priority? You have your starting Corners and their backups all gone to graduation. Arthur Maulet, Chauncey Lanier, Dontrell Nelson, and Jahmahl Pardner. Strong Safety Chris Morley is gone as well. The only returning starter is Jonathan Cook.

Who's coming in?

3* Cornerback Marcus Green from NE Oklahoma A&M. Green, 6-foot-2 180 lbs., is expected to come in and compete right away.

3* Cornerback Tito Windham from Northwest MS CC. Windham, 6-foot-0 189 lbs., looks to come in and play right away as well. It's possible you'll see Green and Windham as your starting CB's next year.

4* T.J. Carter from Nashville, TN. Carter, 5-foot-11 175 lbs., will push Green and Windham for playing time as a freshmen. He's too good to redshirt. Carter may start the season as a back up but could be a starter by the end of the season. We feel he'll at least get playing time.

3* Tamaurice Smith from Mobile, AL. Smith, 5-foot-9 170 lbs., is a good player but when you have Green, Windham, and Carter, then you can afford to redshirt Smith. Remember, the Tigers have Tyrez Lindsey, Jacobi Francis, and Thomas Pickens that redshirted last year.

3* Quindon Lewis from Moore, OK. Lewis, 6-foot-2 165 lbs., could push for playing time but we feel he'll redshirt.

3* Alec Long from Jackson, TN. Long, 6-foot-0 210 lbs., is an under-rated talent. Don't be surprised if he ends up on the 2 deep chart next season.

2* Malik Smith from Sheffield, AL. Smith, 6-foot-2 185 lbs., will compete at Safety and has a chance to earn some plying time but most likely will redshirt.

2* Zay Cullens from Ecru, MS. Cullens, 6-foot-0 205 lbs., will play Safety at Memphis and we expect him to redshirt

Is there a need for more?

We don't think so. You have 7 really good recruits that fit your need and playing style. What the Tigers need now is another tall, physical wide receiver and some big defensive tackles.

The tall/physical receiver can wait till the 2018 class but DT's are needed now.
