JUCO Myles Harges is hearing from schools but he's taking his time to thoroughly weigh his options.
The 2* linebacker has 27 tackles, 5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles so far this year at Itawamba C.C.
His offers include California, Memphis, Arkansas State, MTSU, Southern Miss, Texas State and South Alabama.
He played high school football with current Tigers Genard Avery and Shareef White. Does that make Memphis and instant favorite?
"Not really. Genard and Shareef want me to come to Memphis, of course, but they're letting me make my own choice," said Harges.
The two schools that are recruiting him the hardest are Memphis and Middle Tennessee.
"Memphis has a lot going on. Their defense is tight, very aggressive. I like what Middle Tennessee has to offer as well."
Harges said he isn't in a hurry with his decision. He plans to visit Memphis by the end season and will make his choice soon thereafter.
Relationships with the coaches and players play an important role for him. He admitted he watches Memphis on TV and gets excited for Avery and White.
Harges may be taking his time but Memphis assistant coach James Shibest has been active in trying to persuade Harges to commit. Will Shibest's efforts pay off?
Will find out in the coming months.
