Tale of two halves. The Tigers were dreadful in the first half, fantastic in the second half.

The Tigers couldn't do anything right in the first half. In their first seven possessions, the Tigers had 4 three-and-outs. They mustered up only 111 yards.

Memphis was down 13-3 at the half.

The first two possessions in the 3rd quarter was much of the same. Both ended in punts.

Temple missed a field goal and that's when something clicked. They got their act together and busted out five straight scoring drives to take a 34-20 lead.

Temple made an effort to get back in the game but their comeback fell short as Memphis won 34-27.

Temple out gained Memphis in Total Yds 531 to 323. Time and time again the Memphis defense came to the rescue for them.

Now the 4-1 Tigers will travel to New Orleans to face Tulane for their first real road game of the season.

Grades-

Offense, C.

First half grade would be an F but the 2nd half would be an A. We'll settle on a C. The Tigers must find a way to be more consistent on the offensive line.

Defense, B+

We could have given an A but they did allow Phillip Walker to have a great game. Walker's season so far has ranged from very average to poor and Memphis made him look so much better than that. Walker was 36-of-59 for 445 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Coaching, B

We gave a higher grade for the 2nd half turnaround. It took them awhile but they did figure the Temple defense out.
