Similar to the Jalen Duren recruitment this one is difficult to get a clear read on. When you’re dealing with recruits of this magnitude there is always a lot of smoke out there & things can be extremely fluid. Such is the case with this one as Oregon has come in late and a lot of people didn’t see them as a serious threat initially but they’ve really picked up steam over the last couple of days. With them being “Nike U” they’re always going to be a big NIL threat. In saying this I have logged my Futurecast for Memphis. I think the allure of being able to play with his AAU teammate Duren is real. I would expect some news sometime very soon as the fall semester is approaching fast. Adding Bates to this Tiger’s roster IMO would make them a Top 10 team at minimum going into this season. The talent level, depth and experience would be off the charts. Stay tuned!
