University of Memphis lawsuit against College Basketball Promoter

This hadn't been previously reported, but U of M filed suit in April against VII Group after failing to be reimbursed for 57K following their participation in the 2022 Hoopsgiving event.

NIL/Revenue Sharing

Thought this was an interesting tidbit. I haven’t dug into the numbers, but from just a quick glance, it looks like Memphis will report the highest revenue for the 25-26 physical year (and therefore the highest revenue sharing) in the AAC.

The “expectation” is that schools will contribute up to 22% of their revenue to NIL, but can contribute up to 20.5 million.

Bowl Projections

With Memphis on the cusp of bowl eligibility, it is time to start taking a look at where some prognosticators have Memphis going for bowl season.

Sports Illustrated: Armed Forces vs UCF
Bleacher Report: Fenway vs Virginia Tech
USA Today: Military vs Virginia
CBS Sports: Military vs Georgia Tech
McMurphy: Fenway vs Virginia Tech
ESPN (Bonagura): Gasparilla vs Vanderbilt
ESPN (Schalbach): Fenway vs Virginia Tech

I'd definitely Kyle Bonagura's prediction with a grain of salt. He has Boise State getting the 4 seed in the CFP...and there is no way in hell Vandy & the SEC would sign off on playing Memphis in a bowl game.
