Back in October we gave you some names as replacements. Here they are with some new names.

Here's a list that we think would be good candidates. These are in no particular order.

Dino Babers, HC Bowling Green

Babers is an offensive minded coach. Currently has a 36-16 FBS coaching record. Took the Falcons to the MAC championship his 1st year on the job and won a bowl game. He makes roughly 500k and his buy out would be roughly 300k.

Matt Campbell, Toledo HC ***Off the board***

Campbell is a coach that loves offense. He has a 35-15 career coaching record. He’s 2-1 in bowl games. He makes roughly 500k and his buy out would be roughly 200k. He's a top candidate for the Iowa State job and some reports state he's going to be their next coach.

***11-29 Update***- Campbell is the new coach at Iowa State

Bryan Harsin, Boise State HC

Most would think Harsin wouldn’t move from Boise to Memphis but I’ll explain why he might. Money. Memphis is investing in the football program now and getting a established coach wouldn’t be out of the question. Recruiting. Memphis has a better recruiting angle than Boise, Idaho. He would be tougher to get. He makes roughly 1.2 million and has a 2 million buy out but he’s a guy that has a 27-11 record and 2 conference championships.

Clay Helton, USC Interm HC

Helton has been an assistant for a while now. He’s coached at Duke, Houston, Memphis and USC. Highly doubt USC will make him the HC. He’s a good recruiter and it would be nice to see him on the Memphis sidelines again. He makes 850k at USC.

Kirby Smart, Alabama DC

Smart has coached in college and the NFL. He’s learned from some of the great coaches he’s worked under like Nick Saban, Bobby Bowden and Mark Richt. He’s been Alabama’s defensive coordinator since 2008 and has helped them win 3 National Titles. He’d be expensive to get. He makes 1.3 million at Alabama. Smart may not look at Memphis but I’d at least make contact to see if he was interested. Sources say he's most likely going to South Carolina.

Barry Odom, Mizzou DC

Barry “Freaking” Odom. Odom is a defensive mastermind that helped bring the Memphis defense from the bottomless pits of hell to a top 25 defense in the nation in a span of 3 years. Would Memphis go with a defensive minded coach? I would. He can recruit and it a tough as nails, no nonsense coach. He’s beloved at Memphis and the fans would be happy with the pick. Odom makes 625k at Mizzou and Memphis could double that. I'm told that the Memphis job is his if he wants it.

***11-29 Update*** Barry Odom will interview with Memphis this week.

Lincoln Riley, Oklahoma OC

Riley is in his first year with OK and has done a remarkable job with the Sooners and has a track record of coaching some great offenses. Look at ECU from 2010-2014, he was the OC. Riley is a great recruiter and relates to the kids. His only knock is his age. He's 32. He'll be a HC sooner rather than later.

Doug Meachum, TCU OC

Meachum is due for a HC job. He's a good recruiter and a knows how to coach a high flying offense. He's currently the OC at TCU and was the OC at Houston before that. His time is coining, repots say North Texas is highly interested in him.
