Update Information From Tiger Event Last Night

For eveyone's information, I attended the Tiger event last night in Cordova. In speaking to Jeff Crane listed are the one on one questions/answers.

Stadium update: Everything is on schedule. They will be given some money beyond the normal concourse/bathrooms remodel for teh East side. One of the two Suite decks will be turned into a Press box.

South campus: RFQ is out for the athletic village style apartmenent. Demo and construction will begin in Spring 2024 with completion in 2025. Once finished this will have a nice impact on all sports recruiting especially for women sports due to current safety concerns.

Wellness Center: They have 2 major donation request out and waiting for an answer. It's on the donor's timeline but hopefuly they will have an answer in 60 to 90 days. He feels good if they only receive 1 of the 2 they will proceed with RFQ and same timeline as the athletic village apartments.

BaseBall Coach: He's a ball of fire and has BIG plans and a timeframe. Let's see if you can make it happen. Has the right attitude.

Women's Coach Alex: We will be playing TN in the Forum home and home staring at Memphis in the Fall of 2024.

Silervfield: He's very confident that he now has the horses to move the ball this fall with what he's brought in.

That's it for now.

Realignment

Ok, is it taboo to talk possible realignment for Memphis? After the B12 meetings last week, any feeling Memphis is on the radar? Feels like SDSU, SMU and Tulane are the talk of radio shows lately, with Boise, USF and Memphis as after thought. Where is Memphis with all of the improvements coming in the near future? Is it in time to punch a ticket to the P5 as things get settled?

Football ESPN Game Predictions

I went through the Memphis football schedule and ESPN has their Matchup predictor updated for the 2023 football schedule with the win % for each game. Let's take a look.

9/2 vs Bethune Cookman (98.9%) W 1-0

9/9 @ Arkansas State (69.4%) W 2-0

9/14 vs Navy (85%) W 3-0

9/23 @ Mizzou (35.4%) L 3-1

9/30 vs Boise St (60.2%) W 4-1

10/13 vs Tulane (54.3%) W 5-1

10/21 @ UAB (58.9%) W 6-1

10/28 @ UNT (59.7%) W 7-1

11/4 vs USF (81.4%) W 8-1

11/11 @ Charlotte (76.5%) W 9-1

11/18 vs SMU (48.5%) L 9-2

11/25 @ Temple (71.1%) W 10-2

ESPN's Matchup predictor has Memphis going 10-2 and 7-1 in AAC play. Looking at the others teams in AAC and their matchup predictor records, Memphis would finish in a tie for 2nd and would face SMU for the AAC title. The tie breaker with UTSA would be the ranking and Memphis would be ranked higher due to a better record.

So, 10-2 with a AAC title game appearance. Thoughts?
